To shorten an Eventbrite link, copy it from your event page, paste it into a link shortener and choose the ending yourself, for example linx.ly/spring-meetup. It takes about a minute, and the link still opens the same event page.
Look, the long link works fine behind a button. The trouble starts on a poster, in a text message or when you have to say it from a stage. Event links usually follow the pattern in this made-up example, which is already 74 characters:

This guide covers the steps, how to keep one link from event to event, and what the click numbers can and cannot tell you.
How to shorten an Eventbrite link
- Open your event page on Eventbrite and copy the full link.
- Paste it into a URL shortener.
- Replace the random ending with words people can read, such as
linx.ly/spring-meetuporlinx.ly/design-night. - Save it and share the short link instead of the long one.
Anyone who taps the short link lands on the same event page and gets their tickets there, as before. You get a name you can read, a QR code and a click count.
Why shorten your Eventbrite link?
Because an event gets promoted in places where nobody can click a button.
Start with the message itself. Compare a full Eventbrite URL in an email or a WhatsApp group with one clean line: "City meetup on May 14, tickets here: linx.ly/spring-meetup". The second one reads like a person wrote it.
It also survives being spoken. Nobody can read 74 characters aloud from the front of a room and expect people to catch them. linx.ly/spring-meetup they can repeat to the person next to them.
The other two reasons show up later: you can change where a short link goes after it is printed, and you can give each channel its own link and compare the clicks.
Honestly, if people only ever reach your event through a button on your own website, leave the link alone. Nobody sees it there.
Keep the same link for your next event
A printed poster has no edit button.
Each new event on Eventbrite gets its own page with its own link. So when the spring meetup is over, last season's posters and the link in your email signature still send people to an event that has already ended.
With a short link, you open its settings, paste the next event's link as the destination and save. linx.ly/city-meetup now opens the new event, and nobody has to be told. You can do this as often as you like, on every Linxly plan. If the next date is not set yet, point the link at your organizer profile, which shows all your public events in one view.
The destination does not have to be on Eventbrite at all. If the next session runs online, it can be a meeting link, and long Zoom links shorten the same way.
One small habit helps. If a link will outlive one event, leave the season out of the ending: linx.ly/city-meetup still makes sense next year, and linx.ly/spring-meetup does not.
Put it on a poster, then count the clicks
Linxly creates a QR code automatically for every short link. Put it on a poster, a flyer or the last slide of your talk, and people reach the event page from their phone camera without typing anything. The code points to your short link, so it keeps working after you change the destination. Adding your logo and brand colors takes the Pro plan. For print sizes, see how to make a QR code for a link.
To compare channels, give each one its own short link to the same event: linx.ly/meetup-email for the newsletter, linx.ly/meetup-poster for print. Every plan shows the clicks, click versus scan, country and device type for each link. On Starter, stats are kept for 30 days and you get 5 short links a month. For a longer campaign, Pro keeps two years of stats and adds the referrer and UTM breakdowns. The link click tracking guide explains what each click records.
A click is not a ticket sale, though. It means someone opened the event page. Linxly does not know whether they bought anything, so your sales figures stay in Eventbrite.
Scan the QR code on a test print with your phone before you order the full run. What you see there is what your guests will see.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does a short link change the ticket checkout?
No. It opens the event page you pasted, and people get their tickets on Eventbrite as usual. Linxly never handles the payment.
Can I change the link after I share it?
You can change where it goes, as often as you like, on every plan. Paste a new link as the destination and save, and the printed posters and QR codes follow.
Why won't my shortened Eventbrite link work?
Usually part of the link was cut off when you copied it, or the event page is no longer available on Eventbrite. Try the long link: if that fails too, copy the current link of your event page and paste it as the destination.
What happens to my short links if I cancel?
They keep working, and so do their QR codes. Changing the destination and collecting new click stats need an active plan.
How much does it cost?
Linxly starts at $0.99 a month, with 5 short links a month, custom endings, click stats and QR codes. There is a 7-day free trial, and you can cancel anytime.
